Remove Your Sandals For The Ground Is Holy - September 10, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
Once the priests enter the holy precincts,
they are not to go into the outer court
until they leave behind the garments in which they minister,
for these are holy. They are to put on other clothes
before they go near the places that are for the people.
Ezekiel 42:14

Daily Thought

Put to death whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed.
--Colossians 3:5

It was a sterile room. To visit, we kicked our shoes off, put on scrubs and booties, washed our hands and arms, and wore gloves and a mask.

"Is the problem his immune system?" I asked the nurse. Our friend was very sick.

"No, he's not the problem. We are. He's lost his defense system, but we are the ones carrying the bacterias, contaminants, and infections. If all of us were pure, he could go home."

As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
--Colossians 3:12, 14

Daily Prayer

Holy Father, Thy Kingdom come! We long for the eternity ahead of us, when we are free from sin, when we are surrounded with Your holiness, when the world is pure and good, when the lion lays with the lamb, when there is peace on earth.

God, as we live this side of eternity, may our lives reflect Your Kingdom in a world that desperately needs love and purity. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Amen.
