When God Builds a Home - February 11, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
"So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person
to whom the LORD has given skill and ability
to know how to carry out all the work
of constructing the sanctuary
are to do the work just as the LORD has commanded."
Exodus 36:1

Daily Thought

Hiking up Mt. Diablo this morning, the sun peeking over the Sierras, we took in the world before us. Breathtaking.

When God builds a home, it displays his glory.

God had the Hebrews build a house for him. God gave skill to the artists and craftsmen, and provided an abundance of gold and silver and bronze. More than enough.

When God builds a home, it displays his glory.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, God makes his home in us now. He provides "everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness."

When God builds a home, it displays his glory.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. --2Peter 1:3-7

To God's Glory,
Dave

Daily Prayer

Almighty God, we worship You. On Sundays we gather in praise. Each and every day we scatter and serve. Our love for others springs out from our love for You. May each act of service be a sweet aroma of offering to You, and may our offerings overflow.

Bless Your church, God, and we will bless others in Your Name. Open our eyes to the multitude of opportunities to show Your grace to the world around us. Open the eyes of the world to Your glory.

Amen
