Jesus Counts To Ten - May 16, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
In your anger do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
Psalm 4:4

Daily Thought

Jesus angry. Jesus turning over tables.

Money-changers in the temple court, cheating the crowds and making a profit.

"Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!"
His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me."
--John 2:16-17

Jesus out of control? Not at all.

Mark explains. Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. --Mark 11:11

He slept on it. In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. --Psalm 4:4

The next day, he brought a whip.

Jesus counts to ten.

To God's Glory,
Dave

Daily Prayer

Almighty God, Your will be done. It always is. You willed the world into existence, and it is good. We sinned, and you responded with salvation. And it is good. To Your glory, we discover the highest love, love for those who do not return it. Love for me.

God, you cause all things to work for good. Even Your anger is righteous. I pray all things according to Your will, because in all things, God, I know Your will is good.

Amen
