Who Is Your King? - April 3, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
"Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen.
Let them save you when you are in trouble!"
Judges 10:14

Daily Thought

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
--Luke 23:34

Really?

"Here is your king," Pilate said to the Jews.
But they shouted, "Take him away! Crucify him!"
"Shall I crucify your king?" Pilate asked.
"We have no king but Caesar."
--John 19:14-15

They made their choice.

So did Jesus. God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
--Romans 5:8

That is love. That is grace. That is Easter.

That is Jesus.

To God's Glory,
Dave

Daily Prayer

Heavenly Father, Our King, Our Shepherd, Our Savior, Our Redeemer. You love us with a love unknown to us, a sacrificial love for sinners. You save us despite ourselves. Once we are overwhelmed with Your love, we are overflowing with Your grace.

God, may we shout Your Name to the world. If we don't, the rocks will cry out. You are worthy to be praised, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Amen
