You Can Take It With You - April 8, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up,
and he let none of his words fall to the ground.
Judges 3:19

Daily Thought

You can't take it with you.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal."
--Matthew 6:19

Most of the time.

Add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
--2Peter 1:5-7

The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up,
and he let none of his words fall to the ground.
--1Samuel 3:19

If you do these things, you will never fall.
--2Peter 1:10

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
--Matthew 6:20-21

"Hearses don't pull u-hauls" is a stupid cliche. There are things we do in time that are brought into eternity.

Do those things.

To God's Glory,
Dave

Daily Prayer

Eternal God, You have seated Your Son at Your right hand. I pray my words, my actions, my every thought be so focused on him that heaven invades earth. That the Kingdom of God is present in my daily life. That You are praised because a glimpse of heaven shines forth.

By Your grace and Your goodness, by Your righteousness and the Holy Spirit which indwells me, may I be filled with Your love and serve others through it.

Amen
