The Band Played On - November 7, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
and all the nations of the earth will mourn.
They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky,
with power and great glory."
Matthew 24:30

Daily Thought

The names Brailey, Bricoux, Clarke, Hartley, Hume, Krins, Taylor, and Woodward were etched into history on April 14-15, 1912. They were the band, and they played as the Titanic sunk.

Ragtime, waltzes, requests from the floor, the band played and played while some passengers boarded lifeboats and others did not.

The music ended at 2:20am, 15th April 1912.

The last song, "Nearer My God, to Thee."

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
~Matthew 24:37-39

Daily Prayer

Heavenly Father, You came to save the world, and You told the world You will return. God, may all find You salvation, so that all will be prepared when You come back. Even though we don't know the day, may we live everyday anticipating the great day of the Lord.

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Amen
