A Missing Person - November 14, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
The angel said to the women,
"Do not be afraid, for I know that
you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.
Come and see the place where he lay."
Matthew 28:5-6

Daily Thought

"Take a guard," Pilate answered. "Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how."
~Matthew 27:65

A Roman guard: A 4-man security force. Each soldier was trained to protect six feet of ground to the death. To allow the thing guarded to escape or be stolen was a capital offense.

The disciples: Jesus' disciple reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest. He cut off his ear.
~Matthew 26:51

The chief priests devised a plan, "You are to say, 'His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.'"
~Matthew 28:12-13

Daily Prayer

Lord God, You are so awesome. You exploded from the tomb, conquering death, defeating Satan, and rescuing us from sin. You are risen, You are alive, and You are King.

You truly are the way, the truth, and the life. You are Savior. There is no other Name under heaven by which we may be saved. You humbly died for me. May I boldly live for You.

Amen
