Semper Fi - December 8, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man,
though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:7-8

Daily Thought

"More Than A Motto," boasted the recruiter. "It goes beyond teamwork - it is a brotherhood and lasts for life."

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~Romans 8:38-39

"Becoming a Marine is a transformation that cannot be undone. Once made, a Marine will forever live by the ethics and values of the Corps."

If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
~Romans 6:5

"There is no such thing as an ex-Marine."

If God is for us, who can be against us?
~Romans 8:31

"Semper Fi , 'Always Faithful,' distinguishes the Marine Corps bond from any other."

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 2:5

Daily Prayer

Father God, You made me in the first place, and then You went to war for me to bring me home. What amazing love. Your Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ, became like me in flesh, to the point of death, and that, the worst kind. Death on a cross, bearing all of humanity's, all of history's sin.

How can I not follow such a wonderful Savior. Your love is amazing. How great is my God.

Amen
