Show Me - October 6, 2010

Daily Reading

Daily Verse
They said to the woman,
"We no longer believe just because of what you said;
now we have heard for ourselves,
and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world."
John 3:42

Daily Thought

Thomas said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
~John 20:25

Missouri's U.S. Congressman Willard Duncan Vandiver, 1897 to 1903, declared, "I come from a state that raises corn and cotton and cockleburs and Democrats, and frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. I am from Missouri. You have got to show me."

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
~Romans 1:19-20

Daily Prayer

God, there is so much evidence of You. Everywhere I look screams of Your wonder and majesty. What a wonderful world.

How can I doubt? How can I walk away? How can I chase other gods? You are the Creator, the Everlasting God. In You I find my rest. I am done searching. You are my God.

Amen.
