Daily Thought

Most church services end with a song, but not where I grew up. We walked out with a sermon and a Scripture. The same Scripture every week. For 40 years.

Pastor Lee Toms died May 2, 2007. We all came, 1,700 of us, to remember him. The service ended as it should, as it always had, only a recording this time. We had heard it more than two thousand times. Once more.

Now unto Him Who is able to keep you from falling and present you faultless, before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

Daily Prayer

My God, may I keep Your Word treasured in my heart. May it be always at the ready to ward off the temptations of Satan, or to respond to anyone who asks about the hope that I have in You. Your Word is full of truth and grace, righteousness and love. It speaks of Your Son, my Savior and Lord. Your Word is good.
